A New Beginning.....

So I know that it has been a long time since I wrote anything. But today I was thinking about all the great blessings we have been given over the last decade and I thought now was as good a time as any.
Quick update, we have moved on to a new church (Hill Country Church - San Marcus, TX) in the past year and have struggled with the timing of taking a intentional step to back to serving in a ministry. Isn't it amazing how sometimes the lord just has to smack you up side the head with something you know you are gifted in just to say; There, right there is a huge need and you shouldn't be sitting on the side lines.
Well that happen this week, Frances and I were asked to "assist" with some training insight for the Greeting Team and Children's Ministry. Reluctantly, I followed my wife into this endeavor and for the most part was completely unprepared to speak about anything let alone bring passion and excitement to the discussion.
Little did I did know, God had other plans. Pastor Tim spoke on Passion today as a core value of Christ's followers and the ideas just started flowing. I felt lead to bring up the ministry killer   "obligation" to the awesome group of volunteers and leaders that joined us for lunch. Main point being to take stock in were you are spiritually and be sure you still coming form a place of passion and not obligation. Because if you aren't it will have a direct impact on your team and their success in the ministries mission.
Afterwards we had some time with the Greeter Team leaders and just talked about their challenges and some perceptions that we noticed when we were "new" to the church. We also discussed the importance to lead from our strengths and surround ourselves with people who's strengths are different and will add value to the whole team.
I am excited about this new start and the opportunity to provide guidance and ideas to help them build stronger teams for the abundance that God has promised the church.

RMDK Ceremony

This Sunday we are helping another group of Men complete their Father to Son Commitment Ceremony. Our Group of Men decided that what better way to share this gift then to lead another group through the Six week class and help them get started. I will write more on this next week. I also am uploading the RMDK Certificate i created for them. Maybe someone else can use it.

GOD BLESS

Raising a Modern Day Knight Ceremony

I thought I would share my notes from our Recent RMDK Ceremony for Desmond. It was an awesome time of faith and calling him to serve Christ.

Brothers we are at war, in a fight for our eternal lives and for the eternal lives of our family and friends.

Ephesians 6:12-14 (New International Version)

10Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. 12For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

In the study we learned the each man has three things that he is called to do to reach significance. To feel as though he has met the goal of his life.

They are:
A Willingness to obey, obey god and your elders
A job or task to accomplish, gods plan for your life
a woman to love, help mate to raise a family in the name of God

We also learned the a man of god has four core expectation

• To REJECTS PASSIVITY/ do not stand by on the sidelines get in the help.

• To ACCEPTS RESPONSIBILITY/ Only you have the power to make the right choice for you life.

• To LEADS COURAGEOUSLY/ stand firm in your beliefs and lead others to Christ through your willingness to serve.

• To EXPECT THE GREATER REWARD, GOD’S REWARD

2 Timothy 4:7-8

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith; in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to one, but also to all who have loved his appearing.

"Make vows to the Lord your God, and fulfill them." (Psalm 76:11)

Vow of the Knights of the Round table
from King Arthur

I vow in GOD'S HOLY NAME:
To fear GOD and defend the realm with honor and with might;
to do battle against all evil doers, but never in a wrong cause.
I will defend the helpless, protect all women,
and be merciful to all men.
I will honor my words and speak no slander.
I will be true in brotherhood and faithful in love.
All this I do in the HOLY NAME OF ALMIGHTY GOD.

We are in a fight for our Eternal lives, pick up the Sword of the Spirit, and stand fearless in the Gap for your family. As Jesus Christ did for you on the Cross, He stood in the gap and choose death so that we might live.
